Product Description

Introduction of Box Compression Tester

Digital Carton Packaging Container Pressure Resistance Tester Accurate Carton Stacking Strength Measurement 0

Compression tester is used for measuring the ability of packaged freights and containers, made of metal, wood, corrugated fibreboard, solid fiber cardboard, plastics, etc. or of combination of these, to resist external compressive forces corrugated or containers. The test can be used to assess the performance of a package in terms of its strength or of the protection it offers to its contents when it is subjected to compressive forces or stacking.

The instrument has three independent modes of operation:

  1. Strength test: measure the ultimate compressive strength and deformation of the box;
  2. Fixed value test: The overall performance of the box can be tested according to the set pressure and deformation.
  3. Stacking test: Simulate the stacking status of the warehouse, and carry out the stacking test of different conditions.

Why do you need a compression tester?

Compressive resistance is one of the properties used to evaluate the ability of shipping containers, components, and unit loads to successfully survive the compressive forces they are subjected to during storage and distribution

These compressive forces are related to some of those exerted on containers in stacks or encountered in transportation. The method may be used to compare the compressive resistance of different lots of similar containers or to compare containers of different grades. It may also be used to compare the compression characteristics of containers differing in construction or design. In addition, the information gained may be used to provide an indication of the load that a particular container may be able to withstand in service.

  2. Microcomputer processing system, automatic measurement, test result intelligent judging, self-return
  3. Auto data collecting and computing,
  4. Embedded micro printer
  5. Real-time display of compression force, deformation, and curve
  6. Three test modes of compression resistance, stacking and compression at fixed time and pressure
  7. Synchronous motor and accurate thread lead screw drive system

Principle

placing the container between two flat platens. Lower platen is lowered mechanically to compress the container. The system indicates and records the force and deformation (deflection) required to compress the container.

Application

Digital Carton Packaging Container Pressure Resistance Tester Accurate Carton Stacking Strength Measurement 4

This test method covers compression tests on shipping containers (for example, boxes and drums) or components, or both. Shipping containers may be tested with or without contents. The procedure may be used for measuring the ability of the container to resist external compressive loads applied to its faces, to diagonally opposite edges, or to corners This test method covers testing of multiple containers or unit loads, in addition to individual shipping containers, components, materials, or combination thereof.

FAQs

Digital Carton Packaging Container Pressure Resistance Tester Accurate Carton Stacking Strength Measurement 1

  1. What industries needs a compression tester?

Compression tester is mainly applicable to various types of corrugated paper boxes, honeycomb paper boxes, or packaging containers made of other materials, such as plastic barrels (edible oil, mineral water), paper barrels, paper boxes, paper cans, intermediate bulk containers (IBC drums), and other containers. These include small paper box color boxes, medium-sized paper boxes, large paper boxes, barrels, bottles, etc.
So compression tester will be necessary for industries like packaging, food and beverages, instant noodles, cosmetics, beer, grains and oils, etc.

  2. What is compressive strength tester and how it is performed?

Compressive strength measures the ultimate compressive strength and deformation.
Apply the load by relative movement of the upper platens at the appropriate speed. The load keeps increasing until failure occurs or predetermined values for load or displacement are reached.

  3. What is fixed value test and how it is performed?

Fixed value tester is also the fixed displacement or fixed load test.
Place the test package centrally on the lower platen of the compression tester. Apply the load by relative movement of the platens at 10±3 mm/min until the predetermined displacement or load is reached. In measuring deformation, the datum zero point shall be taken as the reading corresponding to a load of 220 N.

  4. What is stacking test and how it is performed?
Stacking test simulates warehouse stacking conditions.
Apply a predetermined load for the required period of time (usually 24 h, according to the material) or until failure occurs.
